Mill art school

The project deals with conversion a of former mill area into an art school. Neo-Romanesque Heinrich Schwarz´s mill is located in Zahrádky, village in Liberec region, and lies on the edge of a historic core of the village. Locality consists of the mill building, a cave, and extensive surroundings with outdoor stage, seating places, and other functions. Concept combines current structures and a new core formed by a simple rectangule mass inserted in the middle of the layout, which permeates whole building, from ground floor, up to third floor. Openings in exterior walls are fitted with casement windows and doors replicated according to the historical photodocumentation. In interior we can find preserved decorated columns and original equipment.
