14 days quarantine when staying in areas affected by coronavirus

The management of the CTU Faculty of Architecture asks all those in the coronavirus affected areas to inform the faculty and not visit the school premises for the next 14 days. The faculty will fully compensate for the absence and apologize to the students.

In accordance with the Rector's Order No. 5 to reduce infection by coronavirus, the Study Department of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University sent the instruction of prof. Irena Šestáková to all students a letter asking for observance of preventive measures.

Students who have recently been in coronavirus-affected areas are supposed to send an email to the relevant International Coordinator (Jarmila Vokounová, jarmila.vokounova@fa.cvut.cz - Erasmus & Exchange students, Kristýna Lindovská, kristyna.lindovska@fa.cvut.cz – self-paying master degree students) stating where and how long they have been and when they have returned to the Czech Republic.

14 days after their return, students should not visit the CTU teaching premises or other university facilities (canteens, libraries, dormitories, etc.). They will be excused from the lessons. They must inform their teachers about their absence immediately and ask them for teaching materials, homework or other information to enable self-study.

If students do not show any signs of illness, they can return to school after 14 days and agree with the teachers how to complete the material during the absence.

The information published on March 2, 2020 applies to teachers and other employees of CTU, when the Rector, in connection with the worsened epidemiological situation, extended the list of locations prohibiting business trips and sending CTU students.

Persons who could be exposed to coronavirus infection must not stay in the university premises and operations for 14 days after their return to the Czech Republic, in particular attending classes, visiting canteens, libraries, study rooms and other common areas and will follow the following rules:

  • report his / her data (name, phone, e-mail, place of arrival, date of return, place of residence in the Czech Republic) to the Secretary of FA CTU Ing. Jana Tóthová, who will hand them over to the CTU coordinator.
  • for 14 days they will isolate themselves from contact with other persons (as much as possible).

There are several ways to do this:

  • employess who can work in the form of a home office make use of this possibility,
  • for technical and economic workers obstacles will be set on the employer's side and will remain at home (with full pay).
  • students will be excused for 14 days from returning from the affected area (it will be necessary to prove their presence in the area or passage through (even with affidavit)).
  • Students should be allowed distance study or provided self-study materials.
  • If students are accommodated in a dormitory, they will contact Service Facilities Administration (SÚZ) and move to the isolated floor of the hotel at Masaryk Dormitory.
  • If persons exposed to risk develop symptoms of influenza or respiratory diseases, they should immediately report this to our coordination point of the support system and contact the physician or the health center by phone (+420 733 673 949, at night: +420 733 673 900).

Minimize travels abroad (including business trips) to the extent necessary to stabilize the situation. If you travel abroad, register in the DROZD system (Voluntary registration of citizens when traveling abroad).
