Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project

Annotation

This thesis presents a design for a therapeutic center in the historic Buďánka settlement in Prague 5, an area that has deteriorated and lost its original function as a vibrant artistic hub. Building on a detailed analysis from a pre-diploma seminar, the proposal envisions a future use that blends the site's historical significance with modern needs, promoting its revitalization and sustainable development. Aimed at young individuals in crisis, the center offers a safe and inclusive environment for treatment and community engagement. The design respects the historical layout and the natural terrain, drawing on Scandinavian aesthetics with clean lines and natural materials that enhance mental well-being. Prioritizing accessibility and human scale, the project connects community and therapeutic spaces through a central communal area.
