PAPÍRENSKÁ

The diploma thesis follows on from the diploma seminar in the Seho studio, prepared in collaboration with Jan Pečinka, where we dealt with Papírenská Street. For my diploma thesis, I chose the buildings of the former Mauthner textile factory, into which I insert and set up student dormitories with an emphasis on partially preserving the production and commercial function in the buildings, which is typical of Papírenská Street. The design deals with the overall solution of the area, approaches the original buildings sensitively, follows on from their supporting system and supplements them with two new floors, which approach them in a contrasting way with their expression.
