Annotation

The restoration project for the forecourt in Rataje nad Sázavou is an initiative to revitalize a historic structure that has undergone significant modifications in recent years. The effort focuses on conserving the existing historically valuable elements while infusing the building with new life. The plan goes beyond merely restoring the structure itself; it also reimagines the adjacent public spaces and the area surrounding the castle. Adopting a modern approach to urban design that respects the conservation requirements of the historic core, the project aims to create areas that encourage both vibrant community gatherings and peaceful retreats. In addition, it clearly delineates and defines the various segments of the public realm, connects these spaces with the broader urban context, and includes a partial restoration of the castles former Baroque garden. By repurposing the castle outbuilding and reconfiguring the surrounding public areas, the project will not only enhance the towns amenities but also create an inviting atmosphere for both emerging tourism and local residents.
