LIPNO REGION LANDSCAPE - SELECTED CASE STUDY
Landscape Architecture, MA diploma project

Annotation
The diploma project builds on the outcomes of the diploma seminar Lipno region landscape, which formulated general principles for the protection and development of the territory. These principles are further developed and specified through a case study of the village of Kovářov, which is currently under increasing pressure from development and tourism. The design is based on three main pillars: stabilization and protection of the landscape, its sensitive accessibility, and the managed development of settlements. The stabilization focuses on slowing surface runoff, restoring floodplains, reinforcing landscape greenery, and protecting historic structures and the riparian zone. The accessibility of the landscape is supported by a new network of trails that encourage soft forms of recreation. As part of sustainable development, the proposal emphasizes the reuse of existing structuressuch as brownfields and underutilized plotsrather than the expansion of settlement into open countryside. New construction respects the landscape character, scale, and seasonal rhythm of the place. The result is a concept that integrates protection, accessibility, and sensitive development of the landscape so that it may continue to serve both nature and people.
