For many years, the scenario of building a new Prague concert hall has been a matter of public debate, proposed location of the hall being the primary topic. The Prague City council is currently leaning towards the Vltavská location, and has entrusted the Prague Institute of Planning and Development with preparing a design competition for a new concert hall at the location. The goal of this thesis is to research the placement of the concert hall at Vltavská location. The resulting design of Vltava Philharmonic Centre consists of a pair of concert halls and a connected administrative building. The large concert hall contains two thousand seats, smaller concert hall has the capacity of five hundred seats. The Centre is also designed as the home of the Czech Philharmonic orchestra.
