Final projects
Regenration of Bedřichův Světec Village and St. Jacob's Church
Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project
Annotation
The aim of this project was to find an appropriate method of preservation for medieval village of Bedrichuv Svetec with St. Jacob’s Church and a perished medieval manor.
Historical survey part of the project revised and expanded on earlier surveys. Design part of the project proposes subtle complementing changes in the village’s urbanism. It looks into the paris’s landscape and central part of the village in detail, as well as the church itself and it’s interior.
The parish’s roads are rebordered with fruit trees, some of the perished footpaths are rebuilt and demolished wayside crosses put back to place.
New houses are placed in abandoned plots and trees are planted to form a green envelope of the village.
Simple new church furniture is designed and church’s old walls and stuccoes are preserved.
