PARCO DELLA SUSANNA - AGRICULTURAL PARC FOR CATANIA

The area of Parco della Susanna is to date a ruderal field without any function. However, in the past it was an agricultural area. The thesis presents a possible way of approaching the future development of the park. A large-scale mosaic is proposed, which allows different functions to exist side by side - be it small fields, sports facilities, children's playgrounds or even completely empty spaces. Rather than a definitive solution, the design is a kind of matrix that allows the individual pieces to be changed and rearranged as needed. This variable way of planning takes into account the park's adaptation to social, cultural or climatic changes, and also encourages - indeed requires - interdisciplinary communication and cooperation.
