Holy Water Font
Design, Bachelor Project

Annotation
The bachelor thesis deals with the redesign of a holy water sprinkler, which serves also as a baptismal font in a small parish. Although the original intention was to focus mainly on the sprinkler, the object, in its expanded function and meaning, is more in line with the baptistery typology. The baptismal font is liturgically superior to the sprinkler, therefore the design fits typologically and ergonomically more into the area of baptismal fonts. From the beginning, the design was conceived for a specific liturgical space, which was the Church of the Name of the Virgin Mary in Březová. The work responds to the shortcomings of the existing furniture and meets the needs of local parishioners. The baptismal font is designed with respect for tradition and the liturgical space. The whole design thus presents a harmonious interplay of modern design with the existing sacred space, which carries its important spiritual symbolism.
