KUTNÁ HORA

The theme of the diploma project is search for weak points in the urban structure of Kutná Hora. I have chosen the area of a bus station which is going to be moved soon and the current area will remain empty. As this plot is owned by the municipality, it is oriented close to the city centre, it is easily accessible from the surrounding housing estates and opens up an ideal space to complement the urban structure and infrastructure. I am creating a full-valued part of the city, respecting the importance of this place thanks to its location. I am designing a penetrable block with diverse inner spaces and public courtyards. The focus point of this area is the public library. The richness of functions is suplemented by a gym, a block of flats and row houses. The block counts with the existing buildings of the supermarket and the office, respects them and at the same time incorporates them into the newly created organism.
