A combined application of methods such as research of design, design research and case studies on the Ecovillages topic are the key stones of the project. A design of a housing complex in specific setting will be the essence of a close cooperation between the DS students and their educators. Various degrees of sustainability in dependence on the programme of the project, selection of building types, material variations will be tested and the impact of these solutions on the architectonic expression of the building. Throughout the project the research by design method will be tested in a small team, such a conscious attempt being the first in the Czech Republic. Expertise of our academics (design and realization of sustainable buildings and their teaching experience) will be employed throughout the project in combination with background research facts, gained in case studies, and theoretic knowledge of each DS student (Dissertation thesis topics: Sustainable development tendencies in ar
