Shelter homes

We are opening up another uncomfortable social topic – the taboo of "people who are homeless or in other difficult life situations." We are interested in the opinion of the upcoming generation, which always has the potential to break down stereotypes and show new ways forward.

     As part of a diploma seminar, several students selected four locations in Prague and prepared a preliminary assignment. The aim is to supplement the housing estate structure with apartment buildings and, above all, a multifunctional building with a shelter. The locations offer connections to existing residential developments, green surroundings, and land for fulfilling the main function of housing and other functions.      

Semester schedule:       
Each student will work on one site in one of four selected locations. A common model will be created for each location, into which individual sites will be inserted. The assignment will include a detailed analysis of the location and the topic itself. We work in a team with expert consultants on philosophy, landscape, BIM, and, of course, issues affecting vulnerable groups of the population.

For the preparation of your diploma project, we offer the option of a studio topic, which we will focus on in SS26. The topic will be FAITH. We are interested in reflections on the assignment, location, and content of the project. We do not want to focus “only” on churches, chapels, and monasteries, but also on places that have an impact on mental hygiene. Are there really atheists? We are planning to invite interesting guests again!

Continuation of the assignemnt according to the DSN and ATSBP developed in our studio.

For the preparation of the diploma project we offer the possibility of a customised assignment. Do you have a favourite typology? Do you have a favourite place? Or even have a specific assignment from your home region? Or don't know yet? In addition to the studio-wide assignment, we also offer the possibility of topics from previous semesters on new specific locations. For example: facilities for technical services and raw material collection for the city of Milovice. The aim of the diploma seminar is to map the site, typology, references and prepare a detailed building program.

For the optional studio, we offer the topic of a family house; the design can serve as a basis for ATRN in the next semester.  

For ATRN, it is necessary to have a suitable project prepared by us, or registration MUST be preceded by an AGREEMENT with the studio head.
