Disputes are a common occurrence within the construction industry. The costs associated with resolving disputes are often high, and the time involved can be very long. The paper examines the various methods and approaches to resolving disputes in connection with construction projects. It covers litigation, arbitration and other traditional legal proceeding and Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR). ADR includes mediation, conciliation, mini-trial and adjudication. Second part of paper is focus on some standard -forms of contract such as "JCT - Standard Form of Building Contract", "RIAI - Contract with Quantities" and "FIDIC - Conditions of Contract for Construction" and their disputes resolution clauses.
