Derived Analytical Formula for the Fast Estimation of the Influence Zone Depth in the Subsoil Beneath the Footings

For the calculation of foundation settlement it is necessary to estimate the influence zone inside the subsoil. An excavation plays significant role for the soil structure interaction. It creates the space for the load transferred from upper structure changing geostatic stress state. The depth of influence zone is calculated from the equality of the original geostatic stress and the new geostatic stress combined with the surcharge from the upper structure.
