Téma: Regeneration of the historic urban landscape through sustainable tourism – the new old spirit of Šeher
Anotace: The paper deals with models of regeneration of cultural and historical urban space, specifically the settlement of Gornji Šeher in Banja Luka. The research is based on the analysis of the principles of synergy of the old and new spirit of the place as a possible way of reactivating historical urban spaces that are stagnant. Through the work, cultural-historical urban space is analyzed as an urban space that is neglected and stagnant, emphasizing urban identity, values and potentials. The aim of the research is to create a potential model of regeneration of the historic urban space through the synergy of the old and new spirit of the place. The concept of sustainable tourism is analyzed as a possible model of regeneration. The settlement Gornji Šeher is an urban heritage on the margins. It is assumed that the reanimation of the spirit of the historical urban landscape could be achieved by applying spatial-design interventions that would enable urban use of space and raise awareness of the importance of applying model of regeneration in stagnant urban areas.
