This paper focuses on the fundamental role of the profession of landscape architecture in shaping contemporary cities and urban areas. Recent research has focused on identifying successful models that can be used as case studies for further work, proposing an exploratory model that can help establish a successful and sustainable base for integration of landscape architecture into the process of designing urban settings. This process consists of four consecutive steps. First, promotion of Landscape Architecture as a discipline with its own domain and defining aspect which deals with and focuses upon process, transformation and duration. Promotion of desirable projects based of designated criteria is required.
