There is practically no present day situation where an architect would enter an environment without cultural or physical traces of the past. The late period of economic prosperity initiated extensive construction. The construction boom and the creative or stereotypical innovation, however, threatened the stability and preservation of past values. Two irreconcilable camps stood against other: the conservative protectors of old values and self-confident builders. The questions they asked one another have remained without answers.
