Behaviour of strain-hardening cement-based composites (SHCC) under repeated tensile loading

Dr.-Ing. Petr Jůn

Selected results of an experimental investigation regarding the behaviour of a Strain Hardening Cement-based Composite (SHCC) subjected to cyclic tensile loading. A series of uni-axial tensile tests was performed on unnotched, dog-bone shaped prisms containing 2.25% by volume of polymeric fibre by using various loading regimes, i.e., deformation-controlled monotonic and cyclic loading, as well as a load-controlled cyclic regime. The results obtained from the tests revealed no pronounced effect of the cyclic loading on the material performance. The material stiffness decreased considerably with an increasing number of loading cycles. The crack pattern and crack widths as observed on the specimen’s surfaces did not differ significantly for the various loading regimes used.
