Information Modelling and Data Management

Anotace

Digital transformation in planning and AECO industries (architecture, engineering, construction and operation) requires professionals to use geospatial and design data together. This allows to integrate spatial planning data with data about proposed or existing sets of buildings and provide valuable information for decision making in the management of the built environment. Students will gain understanding of the potential of digital information processing for AECO, understand how different representations organize information and how experts in the built environment information management can support spatial planning, development control and real estate management. At the same time, students will learn how to create and interpret geographical datasets, apply GIS techniques for site analysis, and design geo process models for informed decision-making in urban planning and real estate development. Their assignment work will combine GIS and BIM approaches and will be linked to the studio work.
