Anotace
Human activity, including resource depletion, pollution and waste production, has a negative influence on the environment. Built environment is one of the major causes of the situation. It is essential to change the approach to building design to lessen the impact of human activity on the environment. Architects should be able to grasp and implement all aspects of sustainable design, including cutting edge technologies in a holistic and integral fashion. Building-integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) represent an important field to explore, since photovoltaic systems have an enormous potential to be used within the context of the city. Their implementation though, has to be s part of the integral design process which is essential for the creation of quality sustainable architecture. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the theoretical background behind, and the motivations for, the creation of an Architects´ Manual of Building-integrated Photovoltaics that would provide architects with a methodical guide to working with advanced photovoltaic systems in architectural design, concentrating primarily on their implementation in urban context including historical city centres.

In this paper, the influence of the cement type on the final coloring of the concrete with colored powdered inorganic pigments used currently with increasing tendency in construction and modern architecture is presented. In the experimental testing, the difference in intensity/saturation of the color of the concrete containing white cement (CEM I 52.5 R - SR 5 white), which is preferred when using color pigments, and gray (conventional) Portland cement (CEM I 52.5 R) from the same manufacturer has been measured and compared. Three colored inorganic powder pigments (red, green and yellow pigment) containing iron oxides (Fe2O3) have been used to color the concrete mixture. Objectivity of measurement, comparison, and subsequent analysis of individual resulting shades has been ensured by measuring exact RGB values at several places of the concrete cured surface by means of the Colorimeter Colorcatch nanodevice which automatically eliminates all irrelevant color shades, shadows, and impurities. This eliminated the subjective color impression which is usually always biased by external circumstances. Comparison of the color intensity of six experimental samples, including three pigment colors and two types of cement (white/grey), is conclusively related to the color efficiency ratio, the resulting costs, and the ecological footprint arising from the production of the cements above.

V 50. rokoch minulého storočia prebiehalo na Slovensku viacero terénnych prieskumov kultúrneho dedičstva, na ktorých sa podieľali i českí odborníci a študenti. Dokumentáciu jednej takejto expedície z r. 1954 uchováva archív Krajského pamiatkového úradu v Prešove: vyše 800 fotografických negatívov prevažne vidieckych stavieb je cenným obrazovým prameňom k poznaniu stavebného obrazu južného a východného Slovenska pred výraznejším nástupom industrializácie. V pätici autorov dokumentácie sa podarilo identifikovať študentov architektúry pražského ČVUT a jedného ich pedagóga.

Anotace
This study is primarily focused on an analysis of a collection of finds from the 16th and 17th century which originate from a  single site. The collection, which consists mainly of ceramic and glass vessels, deserves individual attention on the grounds of the range and state of preservation of the artefacts. Only through the presentation of such collections as a  whole can we reach a  fuller understanding of the issues of the material culture of the early modern period. The study will also examine the possible interpretations of the site on which the artefacts were found and attempt to connect the findings obtained through analysis of the artefacts with existing information about the arrangement and ownership relationships of the site within the general context of the economic, political and religious situation in Košice in the period of the 17th century.

Anotace
This document explains and demonstrates the influence of plasticizing additives on concrete – wet cured concrete with aggregate based on silicon carbide specifically. These special products have been designed for the foundry industry and have specific requirements for treatment in their early curing stage. The paper deals with the optimization of the currently used formula in order to increase their mechanical and surface properties by adding several different types of plasticizing additives and/or combinations thereof. Indicators of the measured characteristics have been mechanical tests, surface properties, and bulk density, which represented the SiC indicator of the mixture. With regard to the measured data, it can be stated that the effect of the plasticizing additive on special concrete with SiC aggregate have been considerable and depended very much on the type of additive used and its dosage, as the resulting mechanical properties differed by up to 40%.
